We grew up being told and taught to be kind to others. Do you feel disappointed in yourself for not being kind enough to others? Do you hear your internal voice attacking you, “why couldn’t I be nice to them..?” “Why did I say/do that to them?” etc. from time to time? often? or even daily?
But the thing is….You can only be truly kind to others to the degree that you’re kind to yourself.
This is because being kind is a habit, and a habit is created from repetition.
Who are you with at all times? All day long? 24/7?
YOU!
If you’re not kind to yourself, if you’re always judging yourself, if your internal thoughts are accusing yourself daily, you’re practicing “being unkind” all day long, 24/7, and that’s your habit.
Because habits are stored in our hidden mind that we’re not aware of or in control of, AND our hidden mind doesn’t distinguish who you’re being unkind to, it simply becomes your natural response and a habit to everyone.
It might seem counter intuitive at first, but the shortest and most authentic way of being kind to others is being kind to yourself! You’re your best practice field for being kind all day long, 24/7, to build your new habit!
So, don’t feel selfish to ✨be kind to yourself, ✨prioritize yourself, ✨spoil yourself, ✨forgive yourself, ✨love yourself unconditionally.
And most importantly, enjoy practicing it!
Love, Chika
